Disc Backup

A disc backup is a second copy of all of the data from a specific disc. Disc may refer to a CD, DVD, hard disk, RAID Array, NAS storage. Hard disks are rigid magnetic platters which are housed in an enclosed case and used to store data. The term RAID Array is defined separately in this glossary. NAS refers to Network Attached Storage, which is exactly as the name implies, i.e. data storage which is accessed through its attachment to a computer network and the attachment is usually via an Ethernet network.
