Dump Backup
Dump backup refers to a backup made using a file system dump. File system dump is an antiquated data movement strategy in which an entire file system is copied to another storage device. Sometimes this is referred to as a raw backup or a partition backup. Dump backups are usually faster than other backup techniques but suffer from a very high rate of restore failures and require precise configurations to be successful.
