Data Backup Infrastructure
Global Data Vault utilizes a virtualized infrastructure based on VMWare and resilient SANs for primary storage and NAS for secondary storage.
A VMWare virtual infrastructure is a “dynamic mapping of physical resources to business needs." A virtual machine may represent the physical resources of a single computer, a virtual infrastructure represents the all of the resources of the entire IT system, combining computers and their storage into a single pool of business systems.
Virtualization and SAN technologies accomplish two essential objectives: 1) they provide the resilience required to protect our customers systems and data, and 2) they are implemented in a highly cost efficient manner – enabling GDV’s excellent value proposition.
