Scheduled backups are fast, even if your connectivity is not. This is accomplished by only moving data which has changed since your last computer backup. But note, this is not the same thing as what is called "incremental backup" in the context of tape backup systems. Incremental tape based backups do not store all of the data together. For example, part of a file may be on one tape and another part on a tape made several days later. This leads to significant complexity and to the risk that many things can go wrong when it is time to restore computer data. Global datavault's online backup solution for PCs takes a new approach. Your computer data is re-assembled on the server side every time an online backup is performed. That assures that you can always restore computer data quickly and easily.
Version histories
You can set you own retention policy for your personal computer data. For example, you might want to keep history of your accounting data for 90 days or more, but only keep prior versions of Word documents for 30 days.
