Test Restore

It is a good idea to test a restore. A successful test assures that everything has been setup correctly and the correct files have been selected, etc.

Follow this procedure to do a test restore:

1. Open Global datavault Backup by double clicking the GDV icon in the System Tray.

2. Click on the restore tab at the bottom left side.

3. Browse to a file you wish to use to do the test in the window on the right side of the form.

4. Select the file.

5. Click the [Restore] button located in the top left side of the form.

6. When the restore panel opens please make sure that you do not restore the file to its original location, but check the empty box and click browse, and select the “Restore” folder you created on the desktop.
