Customer Spotlight: California Community Foundation

Customer Spotlight: California Community Foundation

Global Data Vault believes in honoring those whose work both assists individuals in need and support the communities in which they live. Our longtime client California Community Foundation is a standout among its peers, and in our eyes, deserves recognition.

California Community Foundation has been serving the people of Los Angles County since 1915, by managing more than 1,600 charitable funds and foundations for individuals, families and corporate donors. With more than $1 billion in assets, CCF is one of the largest foundations in the nation. The grants, loans and scholarships they award address both the long and short-term needs of their community, providing transformative change across Los Angles and around the world.

Their activities include:

• Facilitating giving by individuals and families, corporations, groups, organizations, and all types of businesses

• Managing donor funds and legacies

• Providing financial, technical and management support to nonprofits

• Awarding grants in the arts, learning and education, healthcare, urban housing and human development.

• Sponsoring initiatives that support the elderly, youth, immigrants, children and

• Advising regional decision-makers and opinion shapers

CCF pays out almost as many charitable dollars as they take in. Between 2003 and 2011, they took in more than $1.4 billion and awarded more than 50,000 grants totaling $1.1 billion. Between 10 and 20 percent of CCF assets are awarded every year, assets that have now reached a record high of $1.32 billion. In the last fiscal year, CCF received and granted nearly $350 million. This money was awarded in support of a wide array of causes: helping aging adults get health care, guiding families out of poverty, assisting the disabled, funding scholarships, providing disaster relief and protecting the environment.

For the extraordinary job they do and the tremendous difference they make in the lives of the people of Los Angles County, Global Data Vault is proud to provide services to the California Community Foundation.

DALLAS, TX – Global Data Vault today announced the expansion of its data center locations to include state of the art ViaWest’s Lone Mountain facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the world of cloud storage and disaster recovery, protecting data in the most technologically secure of environments is mission-critical. Global Data Vault sought a partner who could provide a high-level of redundancy, a direct fiber link to Dallas, and a location with extremely low risk of natural disasters.

They found that in ViaWest, with their highly secure, fault-tolerant Lone Mountain data center. This North Las Vegas data center met the demands of Global Data Vault with the industry’s first ever Tier IV design certification from the Uptime Institute, the leading education and standards organizational authority. That prestigious certification recognizes the Lone Mountain data center as the premier colocation facility in North America.

Global Data Vault Ranks on Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses

The thing about Tigers is they are among the world’s most dangerous animals; they are known for their speed, their territorial domination, and let’s face it, their athletics…the LSU Tigers, that is.

Each year, LSU also recognizes the business achievements of its alumni. Global Data Vault is honored to have been selected to the 2012 LSU 100 list of Fastest Growing Companies.

This is Global Data Vault’s second consecutive appearance on the LSU 100 list.

Will Baccich, GDV’s CEO and co-founder is a 1980 graduate of LSU and holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Computer Science.

Hundreds of companies from across the United States and internationally are nominated for this honor. The CEOs and owners of these companies are former LSU students — now business people – and hold degrees from nearly every college within the University.

As part of the yearly event, the honorees are invited back to campus to be collectively recognized later this month. There, they will be speaking with students in the business school about entrepreneurship and leadership.

Congrats to Global Data Vault and all the LSU Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses of 2012!!!
