Update to Veeam V11 Response – Global Data Vault

Update to customers regarding existing issues with upgrading local and cloud Veeam installations to Backup & Replication v11.

Currently, we are experiencing a high number of requests for information related to Global Data Vault’s timeframe for upgrading our infrastructure to Veeam Backup & Replication v11 and want to be as transparent as possible about the issue. We advised customers not to upgrade to version 11 until we could upgrade our environment to avoid service outages.

Veeam changed the way incremental backups work in version 11, and we discovered a bug that affects all Veeam Cloud & Service Providers (VCSPs) like Global Data Vault. This issue is not specific to Global Data Vault. We are currently working together with our dedicated Veeam support case manager and their R&D team to find a resolution for all VCSPs as quickly as possible. Our timeframe for upgrading depends on the resolution of this issue, then internal testing.

Global Data Vault is on the Veeam Partner Advisory Council, participates in pre-release discussions around features and products, and performs beta testing for Veeam. We have the highest level of access to Veeam resources given to partners, and we take product viability—what we offer to our customers—very seriously.

We understand this is a frustrating situation, and we are doing the best we can to assist with the resolution. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

I’d rather be safe than sorry, test away you all – our data is too important to us, as for our company – we’ll patiently wait.
