What's Different

What Makes Our Solution Different?

The Difference

The list of DRaaS differentiators that set our solution apart is lengthy. Here is a summary of the key factors.

Current Data

It’s important that local and remote backups — with the correct restore points — exist where they should.

Only GDV monitors every customer’s data to assure that data is:

  • Current locally
  • Current at the remote recovery site
  • And that all images are quiescent and uncorrupted

VMWare

When you build a virtual machine and move it to a new environment, in order for it to run correctly, you need to right-size it for:

  • Memory
  • CPU
  • Disk
  • Etc.

You also need to install the right drivers for: I/O, Video, NICs, etc.

Lacking these, your VM may or may not even work at all.

Only GDV tracks the local server configs and captures all changes automatically and daily.

Network

If your DR solution is merely a bunch of VMs,

here is what you’ll need to do to make them functional:

  • Assign IPs to each
  • Tell them how to find each other
  • Tell them how to find the firewall
  • Open the correct FW ports
  • Assign the required public IPs
  • Remap any external DNS pointers

More on DRaaS Differentiators

These are not trivial tasks.

You don’t want to learn all this in a time of crisis.

Only GDV makes this transparent – through full, daily config capture – and our unique automated build process.

And not only is it transparent – we prove it. Only GDV regularly tests your full environment and your ability to failover.

Time - RTO / RPO

Without all of the foregoing automation, how long will it take to build and boot your network in a remote data center?

GDV offers the fastest Disaster Recovery solution available though our unique toolset – a toolset that is 100% transparent to the customer and easy to configure.

As Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “I’d give my life for simplicity on the other side of complexity.” We remove the complexity and give you the simplicity.

control_room0

That which you measure is that which you will improve.

Only GDV gives you real-time access to your actual Recovery Points and compares that in real-time to your plan or SLA.

This access lets you know – whenever you want to know – what your recovery points are.

Failback

If you have had a major disaster and had to failover to the cloud, it’s not trivial to move the data and resume operations.

GDV’s unique solution addresses failback just as well.

Only GDV can assist its customers through a fast and painless “failback.”

bandwidth required

Bandwidth – How Much is Enough?

How Much Bandwidth is Enough? Knowing and planning for an appropriate level of bandwidth is a key component of every DRaaS solution. In our most common DRaaS implementation, the data is moved from local repositories at the customer site over the internet or WAN to our...
